The sculpture will be located outside of Hove Town Hall on Church Road by The Juggler statue. There is an accessible traffic light crossing outside of St Andrews Church which will gain you access to the correct side of the road. The pavements on Church Road are relatively wide and smooth with space for people side by side.

By Bus – The nearest routes that stop at this sculpture will be the 1 2 5 5A 5B 6 46 and 49 at the ‘Hove Town Hall’ stop.

By Train Station – If you’re arriving via train, the nearest station will be Hove. There is an accessible, step-free route via Goldstone Villas, where you can turn left onto Eaton Road, right onto Tilsbury Road, and onto Church Road.

Bikes: The nearest Beryl Bay will be Hove Town Hall, a few yards outside the sculpture itself.

There are Sheffield racks adjacent to the Beryl Bay where you can lock up your personal bike.

Church Road is one of the busier roads in Hove and can get quite busy with pedestrians and traffic. Please note that there may be sudden sirens and horns. The outside of Hove Town Hall itself should not be a very busy place but be mindful of pedestrians.

There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants nearby.

Norton Road Car Park. 170 metre distance, around a 2-minute journey.

• There is a step-free accessible route via Church Road. Turn right out of the car park and the sculpture will be in front of you.
• Blue Badge holders can park for free.
• Some specific disabled bays, but all bays are widened to accept wheelchair access.
• From £1.60 for an hour, up to £11 for 12 hours.

Tesco Car Park. 600 metre distance, around an 8-minute journey.

• There is a step-free accessible route via Church Road:
  • Leave the car park and head towards the cemetery.
  • From here you can use the dropped kerb to cut down George Street (the heavily spray-painted wall), before turning left onto Church Street and finding the sculpture in front of you.
• Blue Badge holders get two hours free parking if they register their vehicles at the desk.
• 30-minutes free parking, or up to two hours if you spend £5 in store.

The nearest Blue Badge on-street parking will be on Norton Road. Alternatively, you can use a Blue Badge on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours as long as no loading restrictions are in force.

The nearest public toilets will be by Goldstone Villas. These are male, female, and disabled access toilets with baby changing facilities. They are open from 10am-6pm.

The nearest changing place will be at St Ann’s Well Gardens. Complete with hoist, adjustable changing bench, height adjustable sink and extra space, is designed for people who are unable to use a standard accessible toilet and need the assistance of carers. Accessible with a RADAR key, the toilet will be open between 10am to 6pm during the summer, and from 10am to 4pm during the winter.

Please note that the changing place is a distance away and may not be accessible for some people. This is a 1.4km distance and around a 21-minute journey. There is a step-free accessible route via Church Road, Holland Road and Somerhill Avenue.

This BookBench is painted in Kat’s signature illustrative cartoon style. A deep purple sky with a vibrant orange sun that frames various characters, flowers, and creatures. More of these creatures can be seen at the bottom of the bench below a little blue ladder that is transcending down. The back of the bench shows a portrayal of the pavilion in the same style above a dark purple underground scene, full of more creatures.
