This sculpture is located inside Brighton Station. As you enter from the Queens Road entrance, the sculpture will be situated on the right-hand side, by the bicycle stands.

• Queens Road is on a slight hill, so please note that there will be an incline going up towards the station.
• Stroudley Road is accessed by a large flight of stairs by the north entrance to the station, but there is also a lift next to this that will take you down towards Stroudley Road and Sainsbury’s or up towards the station itself.
• If you enter the station from the North entrance, you will then head down towards Pret a Manger, on the other side of the barrier by platform 8, and past the toilets.

By Bus – The nearest routes that stop by this sculpture will be the 3X, 6, 7, 12, 12X, 13X, 14, 22, 27, 37, 47, 52, 77 and 79 at the ‘Brighton Station’ stop.

By Train – If you’re arriving via train, exit the platforms by the accessible ticket barriers. The sculpture will be directly ahead of you slightly to the left.

Trains: Local and national trains are available from Brighton station. All platforms and trains are accessible with ramps and extra support available at request. There are also accessible ticket barriers.

Bikes: The nearest Beryl Bay is located just off Trafalgar Street and Surrey Street. Others can also be found by the North entrance, on New England Street (by Sainsbury’s), and by Whitecross Street.

There is a cycle hub in the station, next to the sculpture location, where you can lock up your personal bike.

Noise Level – 6/10 reaching highs of 8 at peak times.

As it is a large train station, the sculpture’s location may be noisier than others. Due to the high ceilings and crowds, expect an echo which may be overstimulating. Also be aware of crowds increasing at the arrival of a train into the station.

There will be enough space for a wheelchair to move around the whole sculpture, with drop kerbs available to access the sculpture location. There are also vending machines with food and drink next to the sculpture for refreshments.

There may be cars/taxis entering and exiting also by the Queens Road entrance, but there is a pedestrian pavement with drop kerbs available.

The nearest on-street parking for Blue Badge holders will be on Providence Place. Alternatively, you can use a Blue Badge on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours as long as no loading restrictions are in force. You can also pay for free and for an unlimited time in Pay and Display bays.

The nearest general toilets will be next to the sculpture towards the platforms. These are male, female and disabled access with baby changing facilities.

The nearest changing place available is on the east end of the concourse, towards Pret a Manger. A RADAR key is required, or staff are available to help access this on request. This includes a changing bench, hoist system, peninsular toilet, height-adjustable sink and a privacy screen.

This BookBench has a dark purple background to mimic a night sky. Across the entire bench there are swirls of oranges, purples and blues, in flowing arcs. In the bottom left corner of the front of the bench, there is an orange planet with yellow rings around it. The pages are a cream colour.
