The sculpture is located outside of the restaurant The House, just off of East Street on the brick paving.

If accessing the sculpture coming from the direction of North Street, along East Street, be mindful that the right-hand side of the pavement (when facing toward the sea) is more accessible with less awkward corners and tree roots.

If you’re coming from the seafront, East Street is a step free and easy route to the sculpture location, just be mindful that it is on a slight hill inland and some tables outside of shops can cause some obstruction.

Another way to access the sculpture if you’re coming from the direction of the lanes will be down Market Street, past The Breakfast Club and Permit Rooms. This alley can be quite tight so be mindful of this if you’re a wheelchair user.

By Bus – The nearest routes that stop at this sculpture will be the 1, 1X, 2, 5, 5A, 5B, 6, 7, 12, 12X, 13X, 14, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 27C, 37, 37B, 46, 47, 48, 49, 52, 60 and 77 at the ‘North Street’ and ‘Old Steine’ stops.

By Train – If you’re arriving train, the nearest station will be Brighton. There is a step-free accessible route via Queens Road, around a 13-minute journey across a 1.1km distance:

• Turn left onto North Road from Queens Road.
• Make a right onto Jubilee Street and another left onto North Street.
• Make a right by the mini roundabout onto East Street.

Trains: Local and national trains are available from Brighton station. All platforms and trains are accessible with ramps and extra support available at request. There are also accessible ticket barriers.

Bikes: The nearest Beryl Bay will be by Brighton Town Hall and the Pavilion Buildings, outside Al Duomo.

There are Sheffield racks to lock up your own bikes directly opposite the sculpture.

This area of East Street is wide and largely accessible with drop kerbs and spacious pavements. Please note that it’ll still be quite busy as it connects the lanes, Old Steine, and the seafront. Be aware of surrounding traffic noise from North Street and Old Steine.

The nearest on-street Blue Badge parking will be along Prince Albert Street. Alternatively, you can use a Blue Badge on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours as long as no loading restrictions are in force. You can also pay for free and for an unlimited time in Pay and Display bays.

There are public toilets at the entrance to the Pavilion Gardens by Princes Place. These are male, female, and disabled toilets open to the public from 10am until 6pm. These toilets are 140-metre distance and around a 3-minute journey. A step free access route is via the North Street mini roundabout, turning right onto East Street.

The nearest changing place will be in Churchill Square, where the opening times are 8am – 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am -5pm on a Sunday. It is located on the first floor by the customer toilets and includes a bench, hoist, peninsular toilet, and more. This is accessed by RADAR key. This is a 600-metre distance, and around an 8-minute journey via North Street.

This BookBench is a stunning depiction of a woodland lake. The front of the bench shows trees framed by gold with a wooden cabin peeking out between them. These frame a lake that reflects back the trunks of the trees in blue hues. Fronds of grass and weeds can be seen in the bottom left of the bench, being replaced by blue rocks in the bottom right. The back of the bench shows more trees, some bare, some orange and leafy, around another body of water in shades of blues and purple. A bridge can be seen on the right of the bench that leads further into the woods.
