Supporting your young person to make safer choices around alcohol and substances

A webinar for parent carers of 16-to 25-year-olds with SEND

This parent carer-centred workshop will provide up-to-date information about trends across drugs, alcohol and nicotine amongst young people with SEND. It is open to parent carers of 16–25-year-olds in both East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

We will provide information on how to speak to your young person about:

  • Nicotine (including vaping, illegal vapes and nicotine pouches)
  • Energy drinks
  • Nitrous oxide
  • Alcohol
  • County lines (awareness of recruitment tactics and signs of involvement)

This webinar will be delivered via Zoom by Amy Hebben-Wadey from Talk About Trust on Tuesday 17 March at 11am. The talk will be 45-minutes followed by a 15-minute Q&A and resources will be made available. Talk About Trust specialises in early prevention and education. Their aim is to equip parent carers with confidence, practical ideas, and tools to help their young people make safer choices.
