Amaze seeks community volunteers to bring Brighton & Hove Story Trail to life
Volunteers needed to help Brighton & Hove’s next art trail
Amaze is calling for a team of dedicated volunteers to help deliver The Story Trail this autumn.
Launched during National Volunteers’ Week (1st to 7th June 2026), the appeal seeks people who are willing to give their time to support the charity raise money for families.
The Story Trail is a free family event running from September to November 2026. The trail features 30 large BookBench sculptures and 40 smaller versions designed by local schools and youth groups.
Specific roles available include:
- Trail Guide: guides will walk round the sculptures and talk to visitors about The Story Trail
- Events: volunteers to help at Story Trail events. This may include outreach events ahead of the trail, paint and sips, the farewell weekend and our auction.
- Retail volunteers: to assist with selling merchandise and raffle tickets
<h3″>Hannah Allbrooke, Head of Fundraising at Amaze, said:
“We are so excited to bring The Story Trail to Brighton & Hove, but we cannot do it without the support of our local community and hope to find a group of brilliant people to volunteer with us.
“By giving your time as a volunteer, you are helping us guide local families through the maze of challenges they face. 1 in 6 families in Sussex support a child with a disability or special educational needs (SEND), and every volunteer helps us ensure they do not have to do it alone.”
Amaze provides specialist information and practical advice to over 7,000 families each year. Demand for SEND services is rising across the country, making the support of local volunteers more important than ever.
