Star Community Housing Sponsors The Story Trail

Amaze, your local charity supporting families with disabled children, has begun partnering with local businesses to bring The Story Trail to life. Between September and November 2026, people throughout the city will see BookBenches, each featuring its own unique design.

Each BookBench is designed by an artist and sponsored by a local business. The BookBench is then brought to life and displayed for the community to enjoy. They are adorned with the sponsor’s logo, so sponsorship can be a great way to increase your profile in the city.

Star Community Housing, a Community Interest Company based in the South East, has sponsored a BookBench for The Story Trail. We’ve spoken with Sharon Dickens, the service manager at Star Community Housing, about their decision to sponsor and what it’s like to work with Amaze.

About Star Community Housing

For both Amaze and Star Community Housing, it’s important to support and uplift the community.  Sharon says: “We support people by providing safe, stable homes. We work closely with individuals to help them keep their tenancies, overcome challenges, and build confidence. […] At the heart of what we do is a belief in giving people the stability and encouragement they need to thrive.

Star Community Housing provides support beyond their services, their collaboration with Amaze being an example of this: “I want people to feel that we’re here for them, not just as a housing provider, but as a team that genuinely cares about their wellbeing and their community.

Sponsoring The Story Trail

Public art displays bring the community together and provide a fun activity everyone can enjoy. Sharon says: “Public art has a way of touching people emotionally, it brings colour, hope, and connection to everyday life, and everyone deserves that.

Everyone deserves a chance to feel like they belong, and engaging with The Story Trail is a great way to feel connected to the community: “I hope to create moments of happiness for families, little memories that make people feel connected, seen, and part of something special.” Businesses which sponsor a BookBench know that their contribution is going towards something meaningful, something that is making a positive impact on the people of the community.

Why you should get involved

Sponsoring The Story Trail benefits everyone involved, including the people Amaze works with. Sharon says: “Amaze cares deeply about people. Working with them feels meaningful, like you’re contributing to something that truly makes a difference.” Knowing your contribution is going towards something that matters makes contributing feel worth it, especially when you can see its impact on the community.

Getting involved is a great way to show the people of the community that your business cares. The Story Trail “gives everyone something uplifting to experience together” and encourages people to get outside. Projects like this wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors: “It’s amazing what can happen when we work together.
