Applications open now for The Story Trail Artists

Amaze is calling on artists to take part in The Story Trail partnered with Wild Art to the streets of Brighton & Hove between September 2026 – November 2026.  

The Story Trail is an inclusive arts projects that will bring colour and creativity to the streets of Brighton and Hove. This community art project will feature over 30 large BookBench sculptures each designed and painted by artists. 

We want you! 

New and established artists are invited to turn a blank BookBench sculpture into unique works of art, reflecting storytelling, identity or imagination. 

Successful Story Trail artists will be commissioned to apply their designs to the sculptures. Your work will be seen by thousands around the city for eight weeks in autumn 2026.  

Your design will be part of a fun and engaging large scale public art trail in Brighton and Hove. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work across the city and support Amaze, your local charity for families with disabled children.  

Inspiration event – 22 October 

Want to learn more about applying? Come along to our Inspiration event on Wednesday the 22 October on Queens Road, Brighton 7pm-8pm. 

You will have the chance to see a sculptures, meet the team behind The Story Trail and ask any questions about the project.  

Drinks and light refreshments will be available. The food will be vegetarian with vegan and gluten free options available.
