What?

Owned by deaf couple John and Caroline, Talking Hands Cafe is run by a team of deaf and hearing people who use British Sign Language alongside speech. As well as delicious home-cooked foods and snacks, the café runs regular communication groups: kids’ BSL clubs; BSL courses; a communication club and a youth club.  There’s more information about the clubs on the Facebook page above. There is a wide range of vegan and gluten-free goodies on offer and the café has free wifi for the use of customers.
Compass Card offer: 50% discount for the Compass Card holder on food and drink.
Accessibility: Ramped access into building and accessible toilet. The main café is fully accessible, but there are stairs to the additional seating area downstairs. Accessible parking in the station car park and free parking on Stanford Terrace.
