New parent groups & befriending service – a partnership with ESPCF and PaCC

Amaze’s Face 2 Face service for parent carers is changing.  Rebranded ‘Parent groups and befriending’, the new service is a partnership between Brighton & Hove Parent Carers’ Council (PaCC), East Sussex Parent Carer Forum (ESPCF) and Amaze.

Our in-person groups take place at various locations in Brighton & Hove and in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings, Heathfield and Uckfield. We also run lively WhatsApp groups so families can keep in touch digitally. For more information see our parent groups & befriending page or visit our Events page to see the full calendar.

Sally Polanski, Amaze CEO, explains why the partnership is so important:

“Time and again, SEND families tell us that connecting with other parents like them is one of the main things that helps them get by. This partnership helps us to protect and strengthen this kind of crucial emotional support at a time when demand for our services is rising and funding pressures are increasing.  We already work closely with the parent carer forums for Brighton & Hove and East Sussex, but this project marks a new phase in joint working, enabling us to support families and engage them on key issues that affect them far more effectively.”

More about the parent carer forums

A parent carer forum is a formal group of parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who work with local authorities, health services and education settings to ensure that services are commissioned, planned and delivered in a way that works for families with disabled children. Any parent carer can join their local forum and share their views on services and processes that affect them. Find out more about your local parent carer forum here:
