Online support for parent carers
Making the most of online support communities
Feelings of isolation and detachment are sadly all too common for parents and carers of children with additional needs. This may be because of the gap between your experience of parenting and that of your peers or sometimes because you are just too busy and exhausted to maintain social ties. This is where online groups or communities for parent carers can really fill a void, helping you to connect with people who have similar life experiences without having to leave your sofa.
Here’s some of the online parent carer groups and communities we know about. Some are for parent carers of children with any additional need, others are for parents of children with a specific disability or additional needs. Do tell us about others not listed here by emailing [email protected]
