Fun filled summer with Amazing Futures

Amazing Futures in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex have had a busy and a fun-filled summer, with over 60 young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) participating in activities across the two areas.

East Sussex

The East Sussex team have been making great use of their new premises at Whitley Road in Eastbourne. We have run retro gaming sessions, a manga afternoon and popular park sessions in Bexhill, Eastbourne and Hastings, including watching the planes at Airbourne. We also partnered with Concordia Youth Action, who delivered a 10-day social action programme in August in Eastbourne. The young people who took part learnt about leadership, volunteering and social action. They also had visits to a foodbank and took part in an intergenerational cream tea in partnership with Just Friends.

Brighton & Hove

In Brighton & Hove, Amazing Futures were just as busy! We ran swimming sessions at St Luke’s Pool and our short breaks holiday scheme at Portslade Village Centre, with over 40 young people attending over four weeks. The young people tried out capoeira, jolf (accessible golf), drama, dance with Parable Dance and sports with the Albion Foundation. It was great to meet lots of new young people who we hope will start coming to our termly clubs too.

Upcoming sessions

We’re now back to our term time schedule with lots of clubs running in both areas. Visit our Events page and select the ‘Groups – young people’ filter to see all our upcoming groups for young people to the end of the year. Or you can download our timetables for each area here:
