Celebrating 25 years of Amaze

Amaze is celebrating our 25th birthday this month!

Our story began in 1997 and 25 years later, we now support over 3,000 families every year across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex, working directly with young people with SEND as well as parent carers. We are really proud of all our achievements and have made a series of films about our impact, featuring some of the young people and parent carers that we have helped over the years.

We have also just published a special 25th anniversary edition of our impact report.

As a user-led charity, we wanted to make sure our anniversary provided opportunities for young people to be involved, and they have helped us produce a recipe book, ‘Amazing Bakes,’ with mouth-watering cake recipes submitted by our families, as well greeting cards and tote bags featuring their designs.

All these items will be available to purchase at our free celebration event for families with disabled children and young people taking place on Saturday 26 November at Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre. This is a free event and tickets have already sold out.

We will also be selling books, cards and tote bags at the Stanley Road Christmas market taking place on Saturday 3 December at the ABYSS Brewery in Lewes, the Longman Pub Christmas market taking place on Saturday 10 December in Brighton, or you can email us at [email protected] to purchase items directly from Amaze.

We want to support more young people with SEND to succeed and thrive, especially as many are experiencing the impact of Covid and the cost of living crisis on their mental health and wellbeing – so we’re launching a fundraising campaign to raise money towards our Amazing Futures Careers service.

Find out more about the appeal and how your support could make a lasting difference to a disabled young person – thank you for your support.
