Amaze summer holiday sessions in Brighton & Hove – bookings open

We are pleased to be running two sets of holiday sessions in the summer in Brighton and Hove for young people aged 14-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Bookings are open until Tuesday 13 May 10 am.  We will confirm all bookings by end of Friday 23 May.

Portslade

Portslade Amazing Futures Holiday Club will take place at Portslade Village Centre, Tuesdays to Thursdays from 10am to 4pm on the following dates:

  • Week 1: Tuesday 29 July to Thursday 31 July
  • Week 2 : Tuesday 5 to 7 August

Our 1:1 places on this scheme are already filled, but we have several 1:4 spaces available across all the days. These places are suitable for young people who can be in a group of four supervised by one staff member.

Please visit Amazing Futures Portslade Holiday Club with Amaze · Eequ to book by Tuesday 13 May at 10am. We will confirm places by end of Friday 23 May.

If you can’t book a place, please go on the waiting list. Cost is £30, set by the council.

Brighton

Amazing Futures Brighton Holiday Club runs for two weeks in Brighton, at Community Base and other venues in the city centre. These are shorter days, running 10am to 1pm. Cost is £15 for 3 hours set by the council.  Dates are:

  • Week 1: Tuesday 12 August to Thursday 14 August
  • Week 2: Tuesday 19 August to Thursday 21 August

This club is designed for young people who can be more independent. We can’t provide 1:1 support but can offer 1:4 support, where four young people are supervised by one staff member. There may also be places for young people who can come with their own PA. We will be moving between venues.

Please visit Amazing Futures Brighton Holiday Club with Amaze · Eequ · Eequ to book by Tues 13 May at 10am.

Why is Amaze charging for the holiday schemes?

Amaze has been commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council to run holiday activities in summer 2025. These are funded from the Short Breaks budget. In order that as many families as possible can access this provision, from the limited budget available, the council has introduced a new blanket fee structure of £5/hour.

As a commissioned provider, Amaze is required to follow this pricing policy. Their funding to us assumes we collect this fee.

When we have offered Amazing Futures group activities during the holidays previously, these have been free because we have had other funding to run the groups.  To maximise what we were able to offer in the holidays and retain our other Amazing Futures funding for term-time activities, we opted to apply for the Short Breaks funding this year. This means we are required to charge the £5/hour fee for both the different types of activity days we are running. If you have any feedback about this, please email [email protected]
