Understanding the neurodevelopmental pathways – for B&H parent carers

A FREE course for Brighton & Hove parent carers of children on the neurodevelopmental pathway or diagnosed.

About this Event:

This FREE 3 hour workshop is for parent carers of children in Brighton & Hove who are awaiting assessment or are post diagnosis for neurodevelopmental differences.

Topics covered include – language around neurodiversity, types of neurodevelopmental differences, what happens during the assessment process, executive function, masking, rejection sensitivity and where to find support and information.

Who presents the training?

Run by two facilitators including one Amaze worker and one facilitator with lived experience.

Neurodevelopmental differences covered

Autism, ADHD, tics and Tourette’s, FASD, learning disabilities/developmental delay, social communication differences, sensory processing differences.

Need a diagnosis?

No – you could be at any stage from looking into a referral, waiting for assessments or diagnosed.

Your child must be:

  • Under 18
  • Living in Brighton & Hove (or registered with a local GP)
  • Looking into an assessment, waiting for assessment, or diagnosed. This means any point from when a professional working with your child has flagged a possible neurodevelopmental difference, until post diagnosis.

Date: 17 September 2025

Time: 10am – 1pm

Venue: The course will be held on Zoom and the link will be sent out by email the week before.

We expect between 15 and 25 attendees and there will be some opportunity to ask questions and interact with other parents. If you prefer not to share your identity/turn camera on, please let us know and we can plan for that.
