Understanding neurodiversity – for parent carers of secondary aged children
About this Event:
This FREE workshop is for parent carers of children in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove who are awaiting assessment or post diagnosis for a neurodevelopmental difference such as autism, ADHD.
Topics covered include – strengths and positives of being neurodivergent, anxiety, demand avoidance, double empathy, emotional regulation and distressed behaviour, rejection sensitivity, and triggers and strategies.
Who presents the training?
Run by two facilitators including one Amaze worker and one facilitator with lived experience.
Neurodevelopmental differences covered
Autism, ADHD, tics and Tourette’s, FASD, learning disabilities/developmental delay, social communication differences, sensory processing differences.
Need a diagnosis?
No – you could be at any stage from looking into a referral, waiting for assessments or diagnosed.
Your child must be:
- Of secondary school age up to 18
- Living in East Sussex or Brighton & Hove (or registered with a local GP)
- Looking into an assessment, waiting for assessment, or diagnosed.
