The Carers Card
The Carers’ Card is a discount card designed to look after the health and wellbeing of carers.
Who is eligible?
If your child has a Brighton & Hove Compass Card and you are living in the city, you automatically qualify for a Carers’ Card from Brighton & Hove City Council.
East Sussex parent carers can access a similar free carers’ card via Care for the Carers.
Applying for a Carers Card
Carers Card applications are managed by Brighton & Hove City Council.
Apply for the Brighton & Hove Carers’ Card on the council website.
Parent carers need to provide the name, address, date of birth, email address and mobile phone number of all family members who are regular carers and who want to apply for a Carers’ Card. This could include brothers and sisters who have a caring role who are aged 8 to 25 years old (they would be issued with a ‘Young Carers’ Card’).
Applicants need to provide the name and date of birth of the Compass Card holder, the number on the back of the Compass Card and the expiry date on the back of the card. The Carers’ Card is issued for two years.
