SENDIASS Zoom ‘How do I help my child who doesn’t want help?’

Event info:

SENDIASS Zoom 'How do I help my child who doesn’t want help?'

How do I help my child who doesn’t want help? A Guide to Autism, Anxiety and Avoidance with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Using her illustrations Eliza Fricker will talk about the characteristics of PDA, anxiety and demand avoidance, and how we can best support our children at home and school.

For many families including Eliza’s, finding out about this has been the ‘light bulb moment’ after autism strategies and supports have been ineffective. Eliza Fricker is a designer, mother and illustrator. She writes a blog Missing The Mark about navigating the education system with a child with complex needs. She is also author of The Comic Guide to Parenting a PDA Child (out 2021 with Jessica Kingsley Publishers).
