Free surf therapy courses from the Wave Project – Brighton & Hove
The Wave Project in Brighton is offering free surf therapy courses for eight to 18 year olds who are facing challenges at home or school, having issues with mental health, or facing social isolation.
The three-week courses, which run on Sundays, aim to reduce anxiety, build self-esteem and improve mental health. Each participant is paired with a ‘surf mentor’ who helps them work at their own pace one-to-one or in the group.
The courses start on the 8th of April and will run until October.
How to book
Children and young people need to be referred to the project by a professional, for example a teacher, youth worker, support worker or doctor. The referral form is on the Wave Project website.
You can find out more about the project by emailing email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: the courses run in Brighton, but are open to families from East Sussex and elsewhere as well.
