New Amazingly Active programme launching in Eastbourne

Amaze is delighted that thanks to a generous grant from the John Jackson Charitable Trust we are now able to offer Amazingly Active – an inclusive healthy exercise programme for young people with additional needs in Eastbourne, as part of our Amazing Futures project.

Phase one of this exciting new exercise programme begins in February, when we begin training young people aged 17-25 to become peer coaches. The free exercise-based coaching programme will be run in partnership with Defiant Sports and Sussex Cricket’s Disability Cricket, and will cover coaching techniques and teamwork skills, as well as professional boundaries, and how to exercise safely.

From April 2020 Amazingly Active will start working with young people with additional needs in Eastbourne. We’ll be offering both exercise-based small group sessions, and one to one activities, delivered in local venues and parks by our trained peer coaches. The aim is for everyone to have fun keeping active, in a friendly, low-pressure environment.
