New Amaze patrons comedians Joe Wilkinson and Angela Barnes celebrate BIG CHEER success with Amaze

New patrons Angela Barnes and Joe Wilkinson are celebrating with Amaze following our BIG CHEER comedy night at Komedia on Thursday 10th october. Amaze’s flagship fundraising event sold out yet again and raised £5,600 for local families with disabled children. Over the last eight years, ‘BIG CHEER for Amaze’ has generated a whopping £70,000!

Angela and Joe have performed at the BIG CHEER and supported other fundraising events for a number of years so we’re proud and delighted they have decided to become patrons. Our shared ethos is all about positivity and using humour to raise spirits, funds and awareness.

The BIG CHEER was established in 2010 with the help of Amaze parents and patrons Henry Normal (poet and producer) and his wife Angela Pell (scriptwriter). Thanks to the generosity of comedians giving their time for free, the show has boasted some of the biggest names in the industry. This year’s line-up was no exception, and included Angela Barnes, Kerry Godliman, Mark Olver, Lazy Susan, and Mark Steel. It was a unique night of top class comedy entertainment.

We already have the date for the next BIG CHEER – it will at Brighton’s Komedia on October 21st 2020. Come along and support a fantastic cause and we will all be laughing!

Amaze helps families with disabled children and young people tackle problems such as poverty, exclusion from school, social isolation, physical and mental ill-health, poor housing, stress and anxiety, by providing high quality and impartial information, advice and support.

Vital funds raised from the BIG CHEER will be stretched as far as possible in these difficult times for families.
