Important changes to support with EHCPs

One of Amaze’s very successful projects, Independent Support, will be closing on 31 July 2018.

After nearly four years supporting families with their EHCPs, the Department of Education is ending national funding for this project. We have received a great deal of positive feedback from parent carers and young people who have used the Independent Support service and we’re sad to see it going.  Amaze will continue to deliver a variety of projects across West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and East Sussex.

Different types of support for families going through the needs assessment or Annual Review processes will be available from August 1st and the Independent Support service will continue for some families already working with us.

Families already working with Amaze Independent Supporters

Amaze will continue to support you through the needs assessment process until you receive your final EHCP. We will continue to support your preparation for the current Annual Review and your contribution to the meeting.

Families not already working with Amaze Independent Supporters

Amaze will continue to offer EHCP support to new families but only until 31st July 2018 when Independent Support will end. Amaze can then assist you to transfer to your local Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support service (known as  SENDIASS in Brighton and Hove and East Sussex and as SENDIAS in West Sussex).

If you would like to discuss these changes or you would like support with an EHCP or Annual Review please contact us.
