Consultation for new SEND Strategy in Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove City Council has created a draft for the city’s new five year SEND Strategy. The draft was developed with the help of local families, including children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. However, to ensure everyone’s voice is heard, they are offering a chance for any interested person to read the strategy and provide feedback at this stage.

The SEND Strategy aims to improve outcomes and life chances for children and young people with SEND and adults with learning disabilities, and lays out six key priorities. It references the partnership between the local authority, clinical commissioning group (CCG), families, schools and settings, other agencies and services in Health and Social Care, including Adult Services and the voluntary and community sector.

The consultation is open to anyone in Brighton and Hove, including children and young people, parents, and people who work with adults or children with additional needs.

If you’d like to read the strategy and provide your views, follow this link:

The closing date is 31 July.
