Carers Week 2019

Monday 10th June marks the beginning of National Carers’ Week and this year’s theme is ‘getting carers connected in their communities’. Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but carers can find it challenging to take care of their own wellbeing.

Make sure you find out what’s available to help you by getting involved with local events to celebrate Carers Week – it’s a great opportunity to get connected!

Events to get involved in include a ‘Carers’ Festival’, run by the Carers Hub on Wednesday 12th June at the Open Market on London Road in Brighton. The free event is from 2 until 6pm and will be full of information, activities and entertainment. Find out more about the festival here.

Care for the Carers in East Sussex has put together a guide full of Carers’ Week events across the area, which include an information stand throughout the week at Sainsbury’s in the Beacon Shopping Centre in Eastbourne.

Carers Support in West Sussex has organised a number of coffee mornings, information stands and fun activities for carers to take part in, including a carers coffee morning at Selsey Methodist Church on Thursday 13th June from 10am to 12pm. Find out more about events in West Sussex here.
