Carers Rights Day 2021
It’s Carers Rights Day on 25 November, and this year the campaign focuses on the rights that unpaid carers have. We’ve found some staggering statistics on the Amaze Compass West Sussex database, which shows just how hard parent carers on the Compass are working to look after their child or young person with additional needs or disabilities.
How do I find out more about my rights as an unpaid carer?
A great place to start is our info and advice page, where you can find out more information and factsheets about topics relevant to you. You can also find out about Amaze’s parent-to-parent support groups.
Registering as a parent carer with Amaze gives you access to our bi-monthly newsletter, which is packed with information about local SEND services and support. As well as:
- Details about services and support in your area
- Input to surveys or consultations about local SEND services
Join your local Parent Carer Forum
A parent carer forum is a group of parents and carers of children with special educational needs or disabilities who work together with local authorities and health services to improve the way services are planned and delivered for families.
