Amaze seeks SENDIASS Adviser (temporary)

  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Salary: Equivalent NJC 21-22 £25, 445 – £25,963 pro rata. Amaze hourly rate £13.98-14.27  (based on 35 hours week)
  • Fixed term contract until end of September 2022

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our friendly team, supporting parent carers of children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on our busy advice line.

You will need knowledge of SEND legislation (IPSEA Legal training Level 1+) and experience gained from previous employment or because you are a parent carer. You will need to have a friendly and helpful telephone manner and be committed to the importance of families building resilience as part of a person-centred approach.  You will communicate with callers by phone, email or text to provide Information, Advice and Support (IAS) to parent carers and young people across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

You will need an understanding of the issues faced by children and young people with SEND and their parent carers and experience of providing IAS so that you can join our welcoming and highly regarded team.

This is a fixed-term post until the end of September 2022, pending a restructure, with the possibility of a longer-term role. The number of hours available is negotiable – ten to twenty per week in regular slots. We are looking for an adviser to start quickly, possibly fitting it around other responsibilities.

Amaze is an award winning, local charity that gives information, advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and directly to young people.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon Wednesday 22nd June.

Online interviews will be held on Tuesday 28th June 2022.
